Dean Hirschfield- Percussion
Dean graduated from the Metropolitan State University of Denver with Bachelors degrees in Music Composition and Percussion Performance.
For more than ten years Dean performed in and managed the comedic percussion troupe New York Street Boys (from Denver). With NYSB Dean has performed across the United States, in every Canadian province including over 20 Canadian cities and as far abroad as Singapore to perform for the president of Singapore. Under Dean’s leadership the New York Street Boys were featured on many local and national television programs both in the US and in Canada including performing as finalists on Fox television’s “30 Seconds to Fame”.
Currently, Dean records and travels nationally performing with the rock band FaceMan. Also, he performs and has recorded with singer/songwriter Jesse Manley, including collaborations with the dance troupe Wonderbound. Dean teaches both private percussion lessons and teaches percussion at D’Evelyn High School in Jefferson county.
With a strong interest in new and progressive music both as a performer and composer Dean stays active in the new music scene performing with the Playground and the experimental jazz groups, Micro Marauder and the Kerosene Ensemble.
