Season 14 – Time and Space

In Season 14 The Playground travels to the edges of the musical performance experience. This season will feature works with video, gong orchestra, new chamber music for spatialized audio in planetarium domes. 

10/5/19 . 7pm . Nakatani Gong Orchestra.
The NAKATANI GONG ORCHESTRA – NGO – is a nomadic, large ensemble contemporary sound art project featuring Playground performers and board, as well as members of the community. The first half will feature Tatsuya’s solo set and a duo improvisation with Conrad Kehn. This is a one time only event in one of Denver’s most unique venues.

4/8/20 . 7:30pm . Regis University Faculty Recital
Join us for the world premiere of Loretta Notareschi’s Gnomic Concerto for Piano and Chamber Ensemble, performed by New York Philharmonic pianist Steven Beck and the Playground Ensemble. Based on the poignant poetry of William Blake, Notareschi’s work explores the intimate, personal, and joyful. The concert will also present the world premiere of Michael Frank’s Pulsations for large ensemble, along with Notareschi’s new works for classical ukulele.
