Playground RemoteLab  - Call for Collaboration

PROPOSALS DUE OCTOBER 9TH

The Playground Ensemble is accepting proposals for musical and multimedia creative works designed specifically for the features and limitations of online conferencing platforms.

Instrumentation can include any combination of  violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, piano, percussion, voice, electronics. The collaborator(s) are welcome to direct, coach, perform with, or just observe.

Although we absolutely welcome proposals for large scale ideas, we are envisioning these as smaller works. Preference will be given to works that are making statements about the current state of affairs in the world (how the pandemic is affecting us, protest movements around the world, what our lives might look like when things are ‘back to normal’). Selected collaborators will be given up to two workshops/rehearsals, a streamed performance, and a possible microcommission of $200. Decisions will be made by mid-October with anticipated performances taking place in early December 2020.

Please submit a short written proposal by October 9, 2020, 11:59 pm MST.
